Today, CHAD continues to be the number-one choice for high-performance solutions to internal and external lining systems, in both commercial and residential projects.

Glen Waverley has developed into an elite business hub in metropolitan Melbourne. In 2015, the suburb became the second-largest property market by value of sales in Australia, surpassing long-established suburbs like Brighton and Toorak. Among the opulent properties in Glen Waverley, is the residence along Bogong Avenue, that required decorative construction from CHAD Plaster, a division of CHAD Group Australia.

The Glen Waverley home was based on an outstanding design by renowned Melbourne architect Philip Manehiem. With top-quality solutions and services, the CHAD Plaster team exceeded the high levels of expectation and satisfaction, from both the architect, and the client.

The brief of the project required CHAD Plaster to supply and install foil board insulation to the external walls, and decorative cornices throughout the property. Here is the complete list of products installed by CHAD Plaster:

1. Knauf Earthwool – Knauf Earthwool insulation was installed to external walls and internal ceilings, as well as the internal walls around the toilets, bathrooms, laundry room, bedrooms and theatre of the property.

2. CSR Gyprock Plasterboard – CHAD Plaster supplied CSR Gyprock for the plaster board used in the project. Since 1947, CSR Gyprock has been trusted for innovative solutions to fire, thermal and acoustic requirements across all sectors of the construction industry.

3. Premier Plaster Dome Sections – CHAD Plaster installed premier plaster dome sections with the aid of three story-high scaffolding. Cast in eight sections, the dome was supported by a suspended metal frame to its dimensions. CHAD Plaster supported the eight sections using a hemp for extensive skimming in a very confined roof space. Meanwhile, extensive framing was used to support a very large light pendant in the dome. In addition, the design of the roof trusses was not compatible with the symmetric dome, hence CHAD Plaster coordinated with the builder to arrange the modification of the roof structure.

4. Lawson Plaster Cornices – Plaster bulkheads and cornices by Lawson Plaster Cornices were installed to match the existing decorative profiles of the cornices throughout the property.

5. Rondo Metal Battens and Components – CHAD Plaster installed metal battens and components from Rondo to laser level to all ceilings.
