What is Alucobond® Aluminium External Cladding?
CHAD Facades proudly offers Alucobond® as the ideal material of choice for facade cladding, roof edges, fascias and awnings. The inspiration behind Alucobond® stems from the need for a facade material that offers a host of advantages for architects, builders and design professionals. Through constant innovation, Alucobond® stays at the forefront of aluminium external cladding even after nearly five decades.
Up close, Alucobond® is comprised of two aluminium cover sheets, and a core made of polyethylene. The lightweight composite material has an extremely flat and smooth surface, yet exhibits rigidity and stability in application. Alucobond® is built for optimum formability, offering unlimited possibilities for creative, innovative and individual planning in all kinds of commercial and domestic projects.
Alucobond® can be curved, bent or shaped to any angle. The aluminium composite material is compatible with any curtain walling system to a close fit. It can be used as a fascia, as a cladding panel, like signage, and for interior applications as well. The components can be easily fabricated and fitted on site, with a wide variety of sheet sizes and thicknesses to choose from.
CHAD Facades supplies Alucobond® in over 80 colours and finishes, including standard colours, complementary colours, clear anodised colours, spectra colours, and natural and wood designs. Custom colours are also available upon client request.
In action, Alucobond® makes for an even more beautiful facade that offers even more functionality. Alucobond® is virtually unbreakable and shock-resistant, with superior vibration dampening properties. The aluminium composite material has a factory-applied coil-coated Fluoropolymer (PVDF or FEVE) paint finish, globally recognised and proven to be the best architectural coating for stability under all climatic and environmental conditions. Clients can rest assured that Alucobond® will maintain its cost-effectiveness even in the most complex situations.
CHAD, themselves, have employed Alucobond® for the refurbishment of their principal factory at 1366 North Road, in the suburb of Oakleigh South in Melbourne. The CHAD team installed Metallic Grey Alucobond® battens to the facade, along with other first-rate solutions from their catalogue.
Alucobond® is CodeMark Certified for full compliance with fire requirements of the Building Code of Australia (BCA).
